Konerko is Hot

"Paulie's" hot. As in scorching the ball.  Tonight Paul Konerko hit his 5th home run in as many games as the ChiSox lead the Cubs, 2-1, in the 4th inning in their inter-league mega-series.  Konerko is having a stellar season with 21 homeruns and 56 RBI's, a good two plus weeks before the All-Star break.  By the way, Konerko should be a pretty good bet to make this year's AL team.

The ChiSox power hitter now has 12 season with 20 or more homeruns.  His blast last night put him ahead of Frank Thomas for club lead.  Thomas has 11 season of 20 or more HR's.  Konerko walks softly and carries a big stick.  You don't hear much about him.  He doesn't stir up the clubhouse.  His quotes have a tone of empathy and understanding of the up's and down's of the game.  He's a realist who gives 100%.  He is a credit to the team and one of the best players in the AL.  You hardly hear anyone speak about him.  This guy leads by example.  He recently passed Harold Baines on the all-time home run list.  Konerko is nearing 390, and will probably make that in a few weeks.

Paul Konerko, you are some hitter.
