Sox Just Don't Have Enough This Season

The Chicago White Sox lost to Boston 5-3 on a hot day at Cellular Field in Chicago. Lefty Mark Buerhle went six innings and left the game leading 3-2, but Boston scored 2 runs off Jesse Crain in the 7th, and Adrian Gonzalex powered a double in the 9th as the Bullpen failed to hold off the Red Sox.

The Sox just don't have enough offensive juice to build a rally on good teams.  And Boston, leading the AL East, is surely, a very good team.  In the 4th, the scored a run when Alexei Ramirez drove in a run, but the White Sox had the bases loaded with power hitters coming up and failed to push across another run.  Carlos Quinton and Adam Dunn went down and Boston got out of a jam.  The Sox got a hit with 2 outs in an inning often.  Rodriquez hit a double in the later innings and the Sox couldn't drive him home.  Good teams find a way to score runs.  Paul Konerko was hit by a ptich and left the game as Boston came to bat in the top of the 5th.  There went the offense.

The Bullpen is suspect too.  The middle relief corp is weak.  Crain has been pretty consistent, but after that, it's hit and miss.  And The BoSox got to Crain today.  The Sox dropped a game behind Detroit to trail by 4.5 games.  It seems like 8 games with the way this team is hitting.  The NY Yankees come to town to play a crucial 4 game series.  The Sox will know what kind of team they have at the end of this homestand.
