The Bears play San Diego and face Philip Rivers and the high-octane offense of the Chargers on Sunday. Rivers has thrown for 700+ more yards than Cutler. It is safe to say, the Chargers don't have a RB like Matt Forte. The downside, if there is one, coming from the Bears rollicking win over the Lions last week is, that the offense wasn't that effective in the second half. Cutler moved the ball well to bring Gould within FG range, and handed off to Forte who scored the Bears lone TD on offense early on in the game. He hit Roy Williams and Earl Bennett with nice throws. Bennett seems to be Cutler's favorite target these days. Johnny Knox also made a nice catch for a first down. Hester scored to make it 20-0 and the game was essentially over. Even Chicago couldn't blow that big a lead.
But now the Bears are on the road, and it is always tough to get one on the road. It is has been noted that San Diego doesn't have a big rush, which will allow Cutler to not have to rush his throws. If he can do that, it would be a help. The Bears found their winning combination. They need to keep doing it. A good team is this: This is what we do, now stop us.
The Bears are pretty bread and butter. I hope they can continue to establish the run...because that is their staple. It would be great to see the Bears solidfy their claim to a Wild Card berth with a win. It is this time of the season when wins are important, when they really mean something. Get tough Chicago.
