Bears Play Titans Tough But Fall 21-14

The Chicago Bears certainly played tough defensively against the Tennessee Titans. They held the AFC powerhouse to just 20 yards rushing for the entire game, and an impressive -5 yards rushing for the first half.  The Titans, however, found another way to win, and can thank Kerry Collins, their quarterback, for having a fine game.

Collins threw for 289 yards and two touchdowns and that seemed to be just enough to hold off the stubborn Bears in the 4th quarter.  The Bears put up a pretty good fight but came up short against one of the top teams in the NFL.

Rex Grossman, who has been in some big games in his career, couldn't quit get anything going as he was 20-37 for 173 yards.  He threw a pick and the Titans could have had at least one more, but the Titans' dropped the ball.

This game was not decided on statistics.  It was decided upon a veteran QB, Collins, who stepped up to win a game.

The Bears miss Kyle Orton, who has been the go-to guy for Chicago. And, Orton will be needed as the Bears play Division rivals in upcoming games.  The defense rose to the challenge and played well.  Now, if they can do that in Green Bay, and have a healthy Orton calling the signals, and an effective ground game, The Bears will be in a dog-fight up in Lambeau Field.  The Bears still have a 5-4 record.  If they win their games in front of them, they will get to the playoffs. They don't have to sweep. Just win the key games. Take care of business.  Kick some butt. If the Bears can do that, they have a good shot at winning the Division.  They have to play tough and play smart. If Hester can break a TD on special teams, which he hasn't done all season, that would help big time.

Like the song says, "Bear down, Chicago Bears."
