I'm Holding My Breath, Cutler Doesn't Get Hurt

Saw Jay Cutler look very good against the Giants on Saturday nite. He makes the Chicago Bears look like a threat this year!

It's only Bear luck that he gets hurt and is out for the season.  I'll say it now.  I hope he stays healthy because without him, there is no offense.  On the field, he looks commanding. His throws are accurate.  He can go long, short, and in the middle.  In short, the Bears have not had a QB like him in years. Before man landed on the moon.  He's better than McMahon.  Can throw quicker with less effort than Erik Kramer.  He has a great arm.  "We must be in heaven man."

That line is from Woodstock with happened 40 years ago.  Since then the Bears might have had 25 QBs!  You can't even remember the names.  Bobby Douglass comes to mind, because he was a great rushing QB.  Jack Concannon was good, because I don't think he got injured. Billy Wade was good because he didn't make mistakes and he didn't get injured.

Lord, if you are listening, "Please keep Jay Cutler healthy.  Let him use his God-given gifts and have a great year."

Now, if the front line can block for him.  You'd think there would be an incentive, because this guy can help you win games, and the more wins you have, the money you can make. It's pretty simple.  With Cutler, the Bears are a contender. Without him, it's a disaster.  And, that's not a good thing in the NFL.  Do you want to go into a game thinking, "Great, he made it through without getting injured."  That's going to be the refrain this season.

That long pass Cutler threw to Devin Hester where Hester ran by defenders only to see the ball go over his head, now that is throwing!  I have never seen that happen before. Hester can outrun most people. So if Cutler can connect with him, it will be shades of Darryl Lamonica of olden days. Bombs away.  It's not gonna be "Bear down Chicago Bears" if Cutler throws TD passes all over the field. If only the defense can stop people. They looked great vs. the Giants who had a very short practice week and were not ready to play Chicago.  The Giants will be ready, will the Bears?

They need an effective pass rush this year. Take a bulldozer and get through there.  They have to take pressure of the linebackers and deep backs, so the D can run blitz packages.  If the Bears stand there like giant oak trees, then it will be a long season.  But the regular season hasn't started yet.  So I can let out by breath.
