I turned off the radio with SF driving vs. the hapless Chicago Bears. It was 7-6 with just over 12:00 in the game. The '49ers were in the red zone with a nifty run by Frank Gore, who was stripped of the ball by the Bears. However, SF recovered deep in Bears territory and were driving for what looks like a clinching touchdown.
The Bears should be beating San Francisco, who at 3-5, seem a bit better than the Bears. And, Bears' fans, that's not saying much. Now, it's Jay Cutler's turn to be a scapegoat. He has thrown an unacceptable 4 interceptions, which halted drives.
Four picks for this highly touted QB isn't going to get it done. But as the game wore on, you could see him sinking down the Bears' mediocrity. He hasn't gotten better as a QB. He's gotten worse. Only a Bears squad could turn a pro-bowl wunderkind into a player who has made great completions to the other team!
The Bears will lose this game. And probably the next. They are in a word, pathetic. They're not bad, they are worse than bad. On a drive down to the 6 yard line, Cutler throws into coverage on 3rd down and SF stops a Bears drive. A defensive lineman picked off a bad pass. Cutler just threw another bad pass that was picked off in the early 4th quarter.
When this game is over, you can look at Jay Cutler's day. Four interceptions. You can't win a game turning the ball over more than 3 times. Four times, you are giving the game away, which Chicago is ably doing tonite. Yes, there's nothing good to write about this team. They won't make the playoffs, will likely finish under .500 and next year's first two picks are already taken by Denver. In that trade to get quarterback Jay Cutler.
