Bears: Just Win A Game

We see how the tides of the NFL sweep.  The NY Giants, losers of 4 straight, win a big game vs. Atlanta, who fought hard to the end. After the game, Giants' coach Tom Coughlin said, "It's good to win a game."  While the New York Jets at 4-5, faced a virtually must win game against New England, in Foxboro, MA.  Getting a win there would be quite difficult. It didn't happen as New England took control as the Jets committed 5 turnovers.  Giving New England the ball 5 times isn't going to lead to a winning formula.  The Jets was fallen into the Meadowlands quagmire.  After a fast start at 3-0, the Jets have lost 6 games and won 1.  That's not winning football and the Jets fans are none too happy about it.  But you have a rookie QB in Mark Sanchez and while he is smart and has talent, he faces some of the top defensive coaches and teams in the league, especially the Patriots, who took the team apart.  A radio analyst on the Jets network said of the game, "This is what happens when you don't execute."

Which leads me to the Chicago Bears. A team that doesn't execute well.  If they don't execute, which is a high probability, they will lose to the Eagles.  Last week, the team committed 5 turnovers in a crushing loss to San Francisco.  A game that a good team would win.  If the Bears pride themselves as a "good team" they need to show it on another nationally televised game.  In these types of games, QB Jay Cutler has not fared well.  He has thrown a lot of interceptions, certainly, more than touchdowns.  If he had thrown the number of TD's he has as INT's, we'd be talking of the sensation of the league.  But last week he looked no better than Mark Sanchez looked today, which wasn't very good.  Sanchez threw for four INT's and fumbled away a ball late in the 4th quarter.  You can't do that against the Patriots and come out on top.

If the Bears play error free football they have a shot to win a game. And, stop the negative analysis for a week in Chicagoland.  5-5 after ten games isn't terrible. Going 4-6 on your way to 4-7 is bad.  Well, maybe the 2009 Bears, just aren't that good.
