The Bears Are Legit With Win Over Vick, Eagles

The Chicago Bears won 31-26 over the Michael Vick led Philadelphia Eagles and served notice that they are better than decent team.  For me, that's saying alot.  The Bears can play well and today they did.  They made the big plays, got chunks of yardagage, had a ten minute drive in the third quarter, keeping Vick and the Eagles offense on the bench.

The NFC is weak this season, but the Bears are in the top class of the those teams.  Because lately, they have been playing, tough, turnover free football.  They have rushed the ball consistently, and allowed Cutler to make the throws he can make.  The Bears aren't relying on Cutler to win them a game anymore.  Matt Forte, the running back is contributing just as much as Cutler is.  Forte, who rushed for over 100 yards against the Eagles, the first time, any back has done that this season, is a good NFL back.  That is the best draft pick GM Jerry Angelo has made.  Getting Julius Peppers in a deal with Carolina was a steal.  Peppers got to Vick a couple of times.  Once, he dove and reached for Vick's ankle, throwing him off balance and to the ground.  It was a big play.  The Bears made a lot of big plays and now have a 8-3 record, top in the NFC North.  Who would have thunk it?

The Bears play a touch December schedule and their playoffs hopes rest in the remaining games, but with a month to play, and that is eons in the NFL, the Bears have the right cards in their hands.
