If Cutler is Hurt, He's Hurt

Bears QB Jay Cutler left the NFC title game early in the third quarter with an injured knee.  He said he couldn't put pressure in planting his foot and doctors told him not to go back in the game.  So he listened to his body and the medical staff.  And, he is getting massive grief for being injured.  It's like Brian Urlacher got hurt, didn't play for almost an entire season.  He broke his hand or something.

We will find out what the conditlion is about Cutler's knee.  Hopefully it is a sprain, not requring surgery.  But, if the man couldn't play, he couldn't play.  This strident insistence that he should have played "hurt" is wacky.  If Cutler did go out and "play hurt" he risked the possibility that he could really "get hurt" by playing.  Does that make sense.  Do you want to walk out in the middle of a street with cars going through?  Or do you wait for a light--a sign that it is OK to cross the street.  It was prudent to sit out the game and not risk further injury.  Any claims that Cutler can't cut it are slightly wacko and suggests sign that someone was doing some liquid libation during the game.
