Bulls Are Bullievable

The Chicago Bulls are 53-20 in the closing few weeks of the regular season.  They will probably get a 1 or a 2 seed in the NBA playoffs.  That means they will host at least 2 rounds of playoffs.  The Bulls haven't been in the second round of the playoffs in more than ten years since the Michael Jordan era ended.  And, when the they there with him, they won the series and the title.

This team is very good.  Not great, but could be, if they are able to elevate their play, and I don't know if it possible to elevate it much higher.  If they got more open shots, and had an almost fool-proof half-court offense.  But their offense is very good, with Derrick Rose, Deng, and Boozer on the court.  Noah adds a lot too.  But adding Carlos Boozer here is important.  He is tough inside, and can score near the basket.  He is a "small" big man.  Who plays much bigger than his size.  He could be a revelation in the upcoming playoffs.  I think you might see Kurt Thomas getting some minutes to spell Noah, and to reward him for his great play off the bench this year.  He has been a professional, truly getting the job done.

Luol Deng is having perhaps his best year as a Bulls player.  He can shoot, rebound, be a key player on the half-court sets, and is great on defense.  He is one of the un-sung Bulls.  The glory goes to Rose, but some of it should go to Deng.  Without him, the Bulls wouldn't be where they are.

Derrick Rose is having an MVP type season.  He is a great threat to score.  He is extremely quick.  Fearless with the ball, and wants to win.  He is the energizer of the Bulls and I expect him to play great when it counts.  The Bulls are back.
