I don’t give a crap about the result of this game. What I do care about is DeSean Jackson deciding to actually play like he means it and be remorseful for his completely idiotic actions this season in the last game of the year. I’d be surprised (not stunned though) if the Eagles kept Jackson around. Maybe franchise him and get him on a one-year deal, but you would have thought he’d have been on better behavior once he showed up to 2011.(12-4) Baltimore Ravens 24

BOOM! You got TRAPPED Eli! This was such an obvious upset to pick, even in a day that ended up with a metric ton of stunning results. We’re starting this week’s drive by diving right into the “Trap of the Week!” The Giants are coming off a huge win against the Cowboys, with whom they’re tussling for the division title. It would be fitting of this annually inconsistent team to lose a game late in the season that they absolutely should win.(8-5) Detroit Lions at

Because I know how Dallas operates, this claims the prize of “Trap of the Week.” Coming off an absolute trouncing of Buffalo the ‘Boys could head into Washington with inflated egos, leading them to take Rexy and the ‘Skins lightly. I’m not sure Washington is capable of taking advantage, but they could catch Dallas on one of their famously off days. Hopefully Jason Garrett off-sets those odds by handing it off to DeMarco Murray a bazillion times.(6-3) Cincinnati Bengals at

Expect Mike Shanahan to have Rex Grossman hand it off again and again in order to avoid tempting an Eagle secondary that would love to grab an errant pass. They might sneak into the postseason.
2010 Record: 6-10
2011 Prediction: 9-7

Washington Redskins

Who can really expect greatness from a team with Rex Grossman at quarterback? Knowing first hands from his days as a Bear, Rex does have the ability to win games for you, but there’s no telling if he’s eliminated the horrid decision-making from his repertoire. And if Rex falters, does anyone have confidence in John Beck? No matter the starter, this team is going to have major issues offensively. Trent Williams and Jammal Brown have the offensive tackle spots solidified, but the interior of the line might get exposed in goal line and short-yardage situations. And who else besides Santana Moss is there to throw to besides the tight end Cooley? The Redskin defense could be one of the better units in the NFL, but they won’t be good enough to compensate for the offensive struggles. As talented as DeAngelo Hall is, he can make some bone-headed mistakes and gives up mega-yardage.  Still, the best move of their offseason is replacing Albert Haynesworth with the Giants’ former D-Tackle Barry Cofield.

So... lost amidst a rare and exciting Detroit win behind Matthew Stafford is the complete shock that was Mike Shanahan's benching of Donovan McNabb for... Rex Grossman? Really? With my supposed wealth of football knowledge, I can't understand this move at all. Claims of McNabb's "cardiovascular endurance" or insufficient knowledge of the two-minute drill sound weak at best. Having seen Grossman for years as a Bears fan (and still owning his jersey), he is not the answer in a two-minute drill. Ever.

penalties, drops, and missed assignments, this fugly-fest mercifully ended with a 17-14 loss to the Washington Redskins. I feel dirty.

Chicago's offense was about as bad as bad can be in the first quarter, notching an incredibly pitiful negative five yards and giving up several sacks of Cutler. Luckily a D.J. Moore interception off an Israel Idonije deflection put the Bears on the board, giving them the early lead. From there it was a game to forget, as the Bears scored only one offensive touchdown on a solid drive to end the first half on which they actually threw short, quick passes. In the second half, it appeared for the longest time as if neither team wanted to win, putting the ball on the ground or throwing it to the opposing jersey on every possible occasion.

ss to Seattle last week, can Lovie Smith's squad bounce back? Let's get to the analysis!

(3-3) Washington Redskins at
(4-2) Chicago Bears

Chicago's offensive line woes reared their ugly face again last week and the Redskin defense will do everything they can to make sure that performance repeats itself. Blitzes are coming on almost every down in an effort to confuse Cutler and the line, which will test Mike Martz's stubborn play-calling. Will we run the ball today? Not likely, if Martz has anything to say about it. Brian Orakpo and linebacker London Fletcher are play-makers across the line. If they're going to have any success there must be better blitz recognition and an effort to find the open receiver quickly, whoever they are. No more seven-step drops today. A quick three-steps is all I want to see from Cutler on the day. If Matt Forte and Chester Taylor aren't in Martz's doghouse, they have the opportunity to have huge games against a 'Skin defense that is giving up tons of yardage. Keep an eye on DeAngelo Hall at DB for the Redskins, who will likely see Johnny Knox for most of the day.

So close Washington, so close. Indianapolis fumbled the ball FOUR times and you still couldn't find a way to win. The 'Skins defense dropped too many interceptions and couldn't get Peyton Manning off the field when it counted. Donovan McNabb continues to throw erratic passes at the worst times. Losing tight end Chris Cooley with a concussion won't do his completion percentage any favors either.

For some reason I'm really expecting an Indy blow-out tonight. While the 'Skins have a good defense, they can't keep up with Manning and that offense for long. Not only do the Packers lose in overtime to the Skins, but the injuries are starting to pile up in a hurry. Top tight ends Jermichael Finley and Donald Lee both left the game with injuries as did defensive tackle Ryan Pickett. As hot as the Pack looked in the preseason, their play has dropped off significantly in the past few weeks. Aaron Rodgers suffered a concussion late, putting his status for next week in question. The 'Skins held this supposedly top offense to just 13 points, getting the much-needed win to stay even with the Giants and Eagles.

With the Giants and Eagles each in losable games today, the Redskins will be hard pressed to take advantage of the situation. Welcoming the heavy-hitting Packers into town, the Skins won't be able to keep up on the scoreboard. Their defense simply isn't good enough to cover all of Aaron Rodgers' many weapons. Even if they can't run the ball, the Packers aren't going to drop this one after almost losing to Detroit last week. Just won't happen. (Though it will probably happen now that I said that.)

Alright, let's be perfectly honest: Donovan McNabb had a fairly crappy game. Eight completions out of nineteen attempts? He should be thanking Clinton Portis and Ryan Torain for showing up and getting the running game going. Knocking Michael Vick out of the game helped a bit too. McNabb returns to Philly this week, only to see Michael Vick filling the role he left behind. Vick is essentially a younger, faster McNabb that is enjoying all the weapons Donovan saw for only one year. In the lacking NFC East, the Eagles could get a jump on the competition this week. The Redskin defense will be the best they've seen since their week one loss to Green Bay, but Vick always causes problems for the opponent. The real test will be if the Eagle defense can keep their former QB in check and expose his weaknesses.

(1-2) St. Louis Rams 30
(1-2) Washington Redskins 16

I don't know what it is about the Rams that has given the Redskins such a headache over the past few seasons, but now that they have Sam Bradford at quarterback I expect those troubles to continue. Even after losing Steven Jackson to a groin injury early on, the Rams kept fighting and sealed the wiin by giving up just three points in the second half and scoring 17 of their own. They're not making a playoff push this year, but this is a win they can build off of. For the Redskins it was a ailed chance to keep pace in their division. There won't be any easy wins for them this year with the way their offense has struggled.

I'm guessing Donovan McNabb remembered how overtime worked this time around. That didn't help his Redskins, who let the Texans come back from 17 down in the third quarter to get their second win. Matt Schaub's 497 yards passing would sound insane in a video game, making his case to belong in the second tier of NFL quarterbacks. Following their impressive outing against the Cowboys, the Redskins defense crumbled apart against Houston. There's no excuse for that.

yet. (1-0) Houston Texans at
(0-1) Washington Redskins After essentially playing their Super Bowl in week one, are the Texans in for a let-down? If they can put up a mere 17 points, I doubt it. The 'Skins just don't have the firepower to keep up with them and the Texan offense is certainly more on-track if not simply better than the Cowboys'. Washington's defense has to play a perfect game in order to make up for any offensive shortcomings, but if McNabb can find his groove in Shanahan's system then we could have ourselves a fun one in DC. (1-0) New England Patriots at(0-1) New York Jets Okay, who else enjoyed the Jets getting the trash-talk kicked out of them last week? I loved it. Now they host the division rival Patriots who just dominated the similarly-styled Bengals in the first half of their opener. Tom Brady knows this Jets defense and will find Wes Welker when in trouble, but the match-up to watch is obviously corner Darrelle Revis on receiver Randy Moss. If Moss is to stay in NE or get a new contract in the offseason he needs to play big in games like these. If Revis isn't exclusively on Moss throughout the day, then you know his hamstring is bothering him significantly. Maybe that's why you should come to training camp? Oh, and if Mark Sanchez stinks for a second straight week the Jets have NO shot of beating the Pats. (1-0) Jacksonville Jaguars at

Two huge mistakes cost the Cowboys this win. A Tashard Choice fumble on a half-ending play that should never have been called led to the Redskins' only touchdown and an Alex Barron holding penalty on what would have been a game-ending touchdown pass from Tony Romo ensured the 'Boys started 0-1. When you don't give up an offensive touchdown but you can't manage two score 14 points, you're in trouble. Donovan McNabb looked fairly mediocre in his 'Skins debut, but he didn't turn the ball over and got the win. That's what matters.

I throw my predictions into the crazy mix!

Washington Redskins

After struggling under first time head coach Jim Zorn, the Redskins turned to Mike Shanahan to revamp their image and bring success back to D.C. They acquired Donovan McNabb in a trade with the division-rival Eagles to lead Kyle Shanahan's offense. After a competition of elder running backs, Clinton Portis and Larry Johnson will share carries with Keiland Williams out of the backfield. Santana Moss is still the speedy outside threat, but it gets thin beyond him at receiver. Devin Thomas has shown flashes but little else. Mike Furrey is dependable but not intimidating. Joey Galloway is old. I mean, seriously old. The 'Skins also drafted Trent Williams fourth overall to be their left tackle for years to come and traded for Jammal Brown from New Orleans, giving some stability to a wavering offensive line.

Speaking of the Cowboys, they beat up on the small child that is the Redskins organization and surprisingly still have a shot at the NFC number two seed if they get some help. Winning two in a row in December goes a long way in shaking thir history, but they still need to win at least one playoff game for Wade Philips to keep his job. Tony Romo is playing mistake-free at the QB position and is supported by a trio of talented running backs. Dallas is getting hot at the right time.

In spite of all their "December woes" of years past, this Cowboys team has the inside track towards the playoffs. While not quite a powerhouse, Dallas has enough talent to be dangerous and Tony Romo is playing his best as of late. Conversely, the Redskins are a joke. After playing well but losing for most of the season, they packed it in last week against the Giants. This week, their high-priced defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was sent home from practice for being late. Now he's voicing his displeasure with Greg Blache's defensive scheme because its not tailored toward his talents. While I may not like his public display, I agree with the $100 million dollar man. What's the point of signing a defensive force if your scheme doesn't play to his strengths. Oh well. The next coach won't have that problem. Cowboys over Indians.

Sorry Jim Zorn. The Eagles get by the ‘Skins with a sloppy win, but a win nonetheless. Donovan McNabb wasn’t at his best, but it was good enough to take advantage of multiple Redskin turnovers. HAHAHAHA. Oh Jim Zorn, you’re SO fired. For the third time this season, the Redskins give a winless team their first victory. The fact that Daniel Snyder brought in an offensive consultant in Sherm Lewis (who was calling Bingo at a senior center two weeks ago, no lie) who is now going to be calling the offensive plays means Zorn is all but out as head coach.

urgh should lay the wood to these streaking Browns.

(0-5) Kansas City Chiefs at (2-3) Washington Redskins

In the wacky world of the Redskins, things aren’t going exactly as owner Daniel Snyder planned. They’ve beaten the Bucs and Rams but lost to the lowly Lions and the pathetic Panthers. Now they get the Kansas City Chiefs, who are winless just as those teams were. If the ‘Skins can’t turn things around expect a clean sweep of the coaching staff at the end of the season.

(2-3) Washington Redskins 17

Take THAT Jim Zorn! Oh man, it is SO sweet to watch Dan Snyder’s Redskins give teams their first win. I can’t imagine Zorn or Jason Campbell’s jobs are safe for long. A do-over in DC is coming this offseason. Welcome out of the loser’s club Carolina.

eeds to be healthy for Tom Brady to have success in this one.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-3) at Washington Redskins (1-2)

You’re obviously wondering why I would even mention this game. It’s simple, there’s drama. Tampa Bay benched QB Byron Leftwich after their offense failed to put up points, switching to second-year Josh Johnson. For the Redskins, this is a game they could once mark down as an easy win, but not anymore. If they lose a second straight contest to a supposedly inferior foe, heads could roll in DC.

Let’s start the Final Drive of week 3!

(1-2) Detroit Lions 19 (1-2) Washington Redskins 14

The Lions had to win eventually. Though it would be an unfortunate day for whatever unlucky team they defeated. Jim Zorn will keep his job… for a while longer. Congrats to the Lions and the fans that actually showed up to see it.

Let’s get started with this week’s Opening Drive!

Washington Redskins (1-1) at Detroit Lions (0-2)

I’m rooting for the Lions to avoid the longest regular season losing streak in league history (20 games). Why? So I can see the chaos that will undoubtedly ensue in Washington when the ‘Skins fall. Jim Zorn is already under pressure for his inept offense that barely put away the Rams last week.

our 200r third-ranked offense should be able to put up more than a touchdown.

New York Giants 23, Washington Redskins 17

Just as in Dallas, sharing the wealth might replace some of the production lost from losing their best receiver. If the G-men’s running game can pound their opponents every week, the receivers won’t have as much pressure on them. Losing rookie Hakeem Nicks for a few weeks won’t do Manning any favors though. Oh, Osi Umenyiora is back and angry too.

Nine wins for the Texans is a long shot.

Washington Redskins at New York Giants

Week one and we’re already getting an NFC East division match-up. What could be better? After the ‘Skins attempted to bring in every other QB possible, Jason Campbell needs to prove he belongs at the starting position in Washington. A win over the Giants in week one will certainly help his cause. Clinton Portis should have another solid year, but the real story will be on defense. Signing DT Albert Haynesworth and CB DeAngelo Hall in the first few hours of free agency, owner Dan Synder returned to his “buying a Super Bowl” philosophy. If their defense isn’t much improved with those additions, Washington could be the bottom-feeder in the NFC East.

2 April 2009

When the rumors surfaced that the Washington Redskins were getting involved when they have a solid talent at QB in Jason Campbell, I just assumed they’d win out. Jerry Angelo could never outbid Dan Snyder… could he? This deal proves that new Denver head coach Josh McDaniels liked Orton better than Campbell, which is a shock to me. McDaniels, the former quarterbacks coach for the New England Patriots, places a lot of stock in system quarterbacks, which Orton obviously is, judging from his days at Purdue.

f he can establish himself against Atlanta’s defensive unit.

Philadelphia Eagles (8-5-1) at Washington Redskins (7-7)

While the Eagles are flying high and hoping for a trip to the postseason, the Redskins are down in the dumps after giving the Bengals their second win of the season. The ‘Skins are ripe for the pickin’, but nobody backs Zorn into a corner. (Did that joke even land?) McNabb may be auditioning for the rest of the NFL in these last few games, since there’s a strong possibility he will ask to be traded or released at season’s end after everything that’s happened. They’re still a long shot, but Eagles fans may have something to cheer for yet.

(Unless you turn it over five times as well, but you get my drift.)

Baltimore Ravens 24, Washington Redskins 10

I’d stop throwing the football anywhere near Ravens safety Ed Reed. With his two interceptions of Jason Campbell Sunday night he may have single-handedly kicked the ‘Skins out of the playoffs while propelling his own team into January. Clinton Portis was on the sidelines for most of the second half, and has since lashed out at head coach Jim Zorn’s decision. The Ravens defense put the All-Pro back on lockdown and forced three turnovers from the normally protective Washington offense. Zorn’s Redskins may end up on the bottom of the NFC East after all. Baltimore is set up perfectly for a post-season berth and will be a dangerous opponent for whoever is unfortunate enough to face them.

Another week is in the books in the National Football League as we head to Week 15. But first let's take a look back at the week that was...Week 14! (my tongue is getting twisted) Several surprising outcomes this past Sunday including a few of the games I picked. I went a disappointing 1-3 in my picks. Very poor performance on my part. I'm finally realizing I'll never have a grip on the NFL. It's the most inconsistent professional sport out there. Any team can lose on any given week. But enough sulking, let's get on to this week's Fallout Report!

ve something to say when the season ends.

Winners - Dallas Cowboys

4) Washington Redskins @ Baltimore Ravens

The 7-5 Washington Redskins will take on the 8-4 Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore in this Sunday Night match-up. This is a big game for both teams. The Redskins' playoff hopes will take a big hit with another loss and the Ravens are still hunting for a AFC playoff bid and with a Pittsburgh loss, the two teams will be virtually tied in the AFC North. So big stakes on the table in this one. The Ravens have played better at home than on the road this season. Washington...eh. This is a team that started out red-hot, but has cooled down as of late. I'll go with my gut and pick Baltimore in this one at home. Joe Flacco and company have played well this season.

rsquo;ll need to start looking at ways to improve that defense… again.

New York Giants 23, Washington Redskins 7

If you haven’t believed my hype regarding the Giants, you should now. Sans Plaxico Burress, Eli Manning put up almost 300 passing yards against a physical Redskin secondary. That’s a great sign for Tom Coughlin’s group, who will now be without Burress for the rest of the season. Defensive end Justin Tuck added two more sacks to his season total, providing star talent on what was supposed to be an under-manned defensive line. The ‘Skins are still in the playoff hunt, but with an ailing Clinton Portis and a closing schedule that includes the Ravens and Eagles (albeit mixed with the Bengals and 49ers); they’ll need some help to make it into January.

Expect to see them come January.

New York Giants (10-1) at Washington Redskins (7-4)

The Giants are without question the best team in the NFL. They’re on a six-game win streak coming into this weekend’s NFC East divisional match-up. Brandon Jacobs is listed as questionable and embattled receiver Plaxico Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg on Friday, putting himself out of action for at least two weeks. Still, they have a great opportunity to close the door on the NFC East with a win. At 7-4, Jim Zorn’s Redskins are a pleasant surprise, as is Zorn’s rapid success as a head coach. Clinton Portis’s status is up in the air for a second straight week, and if he can’t make a go of it the Redskins will be beaten before the game even starts.

Yesterday, the Cowboys defeated the San Francisco 49ers, at Texas Stadium, by a score of 35-22.  Don’t let the score fool you, the ‘Boys were in cruise control mid-way through the 2nd quarter.  The Cowboys defense started off a little shaky, but they were able to limit the 49ers to field goals.  After the 1st quarter, the boys trailed 6-0, but that’s when it happened…the game changed in an instant!

19 November 2008

Just this past Sunday (November 16th), something occurred in the NFL during a post-game news conference that has left me dumbfounded.  The Eagles and Bengals played to a 13-13 tie.  Usually that would be news in of itself, since ties are very rare in the NFL.  In fact, the last tie came in 2002.  The last time an Eagles game ended in a tie was, coincidentally, on November 16, 1997 against the Baltimore Ravens.  But what’s got my panties all up in a bunch is what Donovan McNabb had to say after the game.

The acquisition of Jerry Porter obviously didn’t help.

Dallas Cowboys 14, Washington Redskins 10

Ugh. I’ll have to continue discussing the Dallas Cowboys and their playoff hopes for another week. Defeating the Redskins in Washington has propelled them to second place in the NFC East, since the Eagles could only tie the Bengals (That’s right McNabb, ties DO exist). Tony Romo brought a spark to this sluggish offense in spite of his two interceptions, and Marion Barber proved yet again that he is the most punishing running back in football. He’s extremely fun to watch if he’s not pounding on your team.

The crystal ball bit off a little more than it could chew this past week.  After all was said and done, the crystal ball was 1-2-1.  That puts me at 17-18-1 for the season, a little under .500 (approx.  .486)…not very good!  I went out on a limb with two major upsets, and I got burned…not to mention the debacle (by Philadelphia) in Cincinnati.  What’s done is done…so let’s move on; but first, let’s see what went wrong.

bsp; The Cowboys got a much-needed victory, on the road, against a formidable football team in the Washington Redskins.  The ‘Boys are now 6-4, and they are in the hunt for a wild-card berth.  For the Cowboys to win the division, it would take a miracle, as the G-Men won, once again, and they are now 9-1.  Did the Cowboys turn the corner?  Are they the same team that started 3-0?  Are they the Super Bowl favorites, once again?  Hardly!  But, they are definitely…back in the saddle!

4) Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Redskins

Tony Romo makes his comeback on Sunday night as the Cowboy nation hopes Dallas can play like they did before Week 4 and all of last regular-season. This game is huge for the Cowboys. They need to win this game. I think they will. A loss would be crippling especially to a division opponent and especially to rivals Washington. The Cowboys haven't forgotten about the Redskins going into Dallas in Week 4 and literally sucking the time out of the clock in the 4th to deal Dallas their first loss of the season, no. I'm not a Cowboys fan, but coming off a bye, I can't see the Cowboys losing this one. I'll go with the Cowboys.

Tomlin needs to reign in Big Ben.

Dallas Cowboys (5-4) at Washington Redskins (6-3)

Dallas fans should be cautiously optimistic this week, for Tony Romo is returning to the starting line-up. However, he’s not 100% yet, and with offensive line troubles could be risking further injury. Dallas is also hoping Felix Jones returns to the backfield, which would allow Marion Barber to stay fresh for December. Dallas isn’t out of the playoff picture yet, but a loss to the ‘Skins would surely shove them out of frame.

Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) at Washington Redskins (6-2)

This is one brutal schedule for the Steelers. One week after losing to the New York Giants in a heartbreaker, they stay in the NFC East to meet the ball-controlling Redskins. Ben Roethlisberger is prime for an injury with all the giant hits he takes in the pocket. The Steelers need to focus their game plan on running the ball and protecting their franchise QB in which they have invested so much time and money. With Baltimore and Cleveland breathing down their necks, Pittsburgh would love to rebound with a win on the road.

MID-SEASON NFL AWARDS & RECOGNITION

MOST OVER-PUBLICIZED
5. Jeremy Shockey (NO)—When he was acquired in the off-season from the Giants, many lauded the move. On paper, it truly seemed like a “win-win” scenario for both teams. One expert even went so far as to say that the outspoken tight end would have the same type of impact on the Saints as Randy Moss had on the Patriots in 2007 (sorry, Mr. Jaworski). Thus far, having played in 5 of 8 games, Shockey has 200 receiving yards, zero touchdowns, and two lost fumbles. Recently, he lashed out at his new organization for rushing him back on the playing field after he suffered a sports hernia earlier in the season. Even with crucial injuries at skill positions, the 4-4 Saints have had little trouble moving the ball on offense. If Shockey doesn’t score a touchdown shut up soon, he might find out the hard way just how expendable he actually is.

The Cowboys are sitting at 4-3, having lost three out of their last four games after a 3-0 start.  This is not how Jerry Jones had envisioned this season unfolding.  The Cowboys had 13 Pro-Bowlers last year.  They had 22 of 24 starters returning (Marion Barber replaced Julius Jones and Zach Thomas replaced Akin Ayodele).  Jerry had good reason for optimism.  The Cowboys had a decent draft by selecting Felix Jones and bolstering their cornerback depth. They also acquired Adam Jones on a draft day trade.  The Cowboys were 13-3 last year; a Super Bowl would surely be in their grasp this year?

When Bill Parcells resigned as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones did an extensive search to find his replacement.  It was believed, at the time, that Norv Turner was the front-runner.  The new head coach was going to inherit Jason Garrett, as Mr. Jones had already hired Garrett as the OC.  In the end, Jones decided on Wade Phillips.  The reasoning was that the Cowboys defense needed a proven “3-4 guy” to take what Parcells started to the next level.

It’s the only option for a team fighting to lead their division.

Cleveland Browns (2-3) at Washington Redskins (4-2)

Each team is coming off strange outcomes in their last games, which were thought to be locks. Cleveland handed it to the Giants, while Washington laid an egg versus St. Louis. The Browns put themselves back in position to make a run at the AFC North since Pittsburgh took their bye in week six. On offense, Braylon Edwards racked up yardage off of crisp Derek Anderson passes. The real surprise was the Cleveland defense, as they snagged three interceptions off of Eli Manning. They’ll need the same focus to stop Jason Campbell and the ‘Skins.

NFC East

Week 7 preview

Hello East fans,

As we head into the critical part of the season, the East sets up for a huge weekend of football. Last week’s slip up by every team except Philly made the race a lot tighter. We do not know if Mr. Jessica Simpson will play this Sunday after speaking with Brett over the week. Eli seems to have a injury similar to SuperFive’s and the Skins are wondering if they really lost to the Rams or not.

A few minutes before the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday afternoon, Jerry Jones pulled off a blockbuster deal for WR Roy Williams of the Detroit Lions.  Yes, I said “blockbuster”!  Keep in mind that trades are very rare in the NFL…especially at the trade deadline!  The Cowboys gave Detroit a 1st, a 3rd, and a 6th round draft choice.  In return the Cowboys received Roy Williams and Detroit’s 7th rounder.  Did Jerry overpay?  Did Jerry panic?  That would be NO and NO!
